Should be standard right hand thread.Make sure you have the engine locked in place so it won't spin on you.Tighten torque gotta be around 150# so it's gonna take heavy pressure to break it free a long breaker bar or maybe if you got use of a impact gun will do the trick.

Thanks for the reply. I should have loosened the bolt before I took the belt and pullies off the motor, but it's been a while since I have done this kind of automotive work and i didn't think that far ahead this time.
I threw caution to the wind and assumed the threads were standard and finally got the bolt to break free.
Now....... to figure out why the timing is off now that I have found that the timing chain has not skipped a tooth after all........ For the engine to run at all (poorly at best) the timing has to be around 40 degrees BTDC which is ridiculously advanced. I must admit, I am baffled by this one.??
