Put the knuckle back on. Put the alignment bushing in.
According to the Haynes manual. tighten the bottom balljoint to 35-40 lbs. then tighten the top to 85-100 lbs. then retighten the lower to 95-110 lbs. This might explain why i cant ever get the alignment bushing all the way in because i always tighten the lower first till i can tighten it anymore then tighten the top will it cant tighten anymore.
I use adjustable alignment bushings. Tire Kingdom keep breaking them so i had to replace them. Since i got new balljoints i know my alignement will be way different. I set the bushings to Nuetral (0* camber, 0* caster). When the truck is driving again ill take it to get a free alignment check and get the printout to tells me how off the alignemnt is. Using the chart that came with the bushing ill adjsut the pushingto where it needs to be. the camber/caster should be very close to perfect and you can use a tape measurer to do the toe
