dscf3562--outer-tubtailgate-seams-welded.jpg I also fully welded the seams where the outer tub meets the tailgate crossmember, using the same spot weld method as the rear verticals, but then cleaning them up with a final pass. Again, no burn-through, I'm happy to report. (I first confirmed that that space is well clear of the gas tank.) I didn't do the full length of the crossmember, as I still need to figure out what I'm doing with the main bed portion.
