the slotted pedastals for the non-adjustable Ford rockers have been machined flat for screw-in studs and guide plates.

I run this "open" element air cleaner for daily driving and at the track; it was a cheap Mr. Gasket chrome unit that I repainted Ford corporate blue and installed a spare decal I had from Dearborne Classics.

I used an Edelbrock Performer 351-2V aluminum dual-plane intake manifold; I ground off the emblems and painted it Ford Corporate Blue, so it looks like the original manifold.

I installed a Holley 'Street Avenger' 670 four barrel with vaccum secondaries and electric choke; I am dissapointed with this carb that was supposed to work "right out of the box"; it's stumbles badly just off idle.

I haven't installed the A.C. pump and brackets yet. I was able to order NOS drive belts from my local Ford dealer; the lower pulley will get replaced with a 3-groove pulley for the A.C.

Here is what I started with-a tired old 351 Cleveland 2 Bbl. The original "Q code" 351 Cleveland 4 Bbl/4 bolt is long gone, all I got was the original air cleaner and air conditioning pump.

8 tired old pistons and connecting rods; the bearings are so worn, copper is showing through!

these will get shelved for a future project, I replaced them with SCAT I-beam connecting rods and PROBE forged pistons to match the stroker crank.

this is the casting and date code of the block;
"D2AE-CA" means this is a 1971-74 Cobra Jet block (but it only had 2 bolt main caps)
"2K7" means this block was cast in 1972 November 7th.

I had to replace the stock Ford starter with this Powermaster 'supertorq' starter; when the engine was hot, it had so much compression, the stock starter couldn't turn it over fast enough to fire! I replaced the battery at the same time.

you can rotate the body of this Power Master starter to clear headers or steering components, which came in handy to clear this pitman arm; I had to install that little 12 guage jumper wire between the two terminals.

I wrapped the starter electical lead with hi-temp insulation, so it doesn't get "baked" by the exhaust manifold.

Holley carb has been removed and I'm ready to re-install the new Demon carb; I installed a 1/4 insulator below the carb, trying to keep the fuel bowls from getting heat soaked.

Pertronix Ignitor III ignition module has been installed; this new module has a built in rev-limiter {adjustable up to 9,000 rpm in 100 rpm increments} and multiple spark discharge capability.

this is the Pertronix Ignitor module I had previously installed to replace the points & condensor set up; I'm going to replace it with Petronix new Ignitor III module, which has a built-in rev limiter.

I used lighter springs to get the advance to come in sooner, and flipped the reluctor to get 20* of centrifugal advance, instead of 30*
