I installed a fuel pressure guage; about 6-7 psi from the mechanical fuel pump, which is perfect.

I started with the standard calibration; 76 main jets, 83 secondary jets, a 6.5 power valve, a pink cam in the #1 position and a silver spring in the vacuum can;

the idle screws are all 1.5 turns out and the Idle-eze is 3 turns out;

Done! I rebuilt it myself with high performance parts including:

extra clutches and steel plates in the forward clutch drum, a new wide-ratio plantetary gear set, ALTO clutches, Koleen steel clutch plates, a B&M shift kit, new filter, drain plug, ...

I'm using a Ford "S" servo, the original servo apply lever, and a 2 inch wide TCS Kevlar intermediate band.

this is the valve body with the filter installed into the transmission.

I found a bunch of clutch material and dirt in the pan and valve body and servo when I did the shift kit, so I decided to overhaul the tranny before installing it into the car...

this was the aft pressure plate out of the forward clutch; the plate is broken in half and cracked in about 20 other places!

Lucky I decided to pull this tranny apart and not just install it in the car; it wouldn't have run very long or very well...

this is the original 3-pinion forward planetary; its still in good condition.

I'm going to replace it with a wide-ratio 6-pinion planetary out of Ford E40D 4 speed trans, to improve durability and lower my 1st gear ratio 10% to 2.71 & 2nd gear 5% ...

this is the shift linkage and kick-down lever.

the square bolt and jamb nut is the intermediate band adjustment screw.

I installed a B&M drain bolt into the stock pan at the same time.

finished! it took about 8 hours to tear the tranny apart and clean all the parts;

another 5 hours to do the shift kit/valve body modifications;

and about 12 hours to re-assemble it.

I'd do it again, (I'll build an AOD next) but I wouldn't...
