The instructions say to run the tubes out the angled forward area of the cover, but I didn't want them to turn that far forward.

Using a Dremel-type tool, I carved a small notch into the side of the cover. Even if I removed the CIS, this would have no effect, and barely be noticeable.

It took some tweaking to get them to sit flat without pinching the tubes, but they're clear of the sliding carriage, and they hold the tubes securely so they curl just like the electronic band at the back.

It's almost invisible. Compare this to the first photo. The cover doesn't sit all the way down because there's no space between it & the top surface at the back where the tubes go out, but it's not a problem.

The tubes are long enough (with some to spare) to place the tanks on the left behind the white speaker on the left for the system below the printer. The monitor & black speaker on the R are for another system, which sometimes borrows the printer.
