Headliner14.JPG 2715 hits | 35.17 KB | Posted: 12/16/06 This '94 Grand Marquis headliner doesn't fit. It hangs too low over the doors, preventing the seals from fitting, and the grab handle holes don't line up. The headliners is about 1" below the roof at the windshield & rear window. Roof06.JPG 3040 hits | 68.54 KB | Posted: 12/16/06 These roof bows are the reason a civilian headliner won't fit in a P71. They reinforce the roof for light bars, but they require a different headliner. (Posted in: Headliner "Repair")
Roof08.JPG 2572 hits | 60.27 KB | Posted: 12/16/06 Fortunately, the bows are easier to remove than I expected. The foam isn't adhered to the roof except in a few small spots. They're only held in by 2 7/16" (11mm) bolts each. (Posted in: Headliner "Repair")
Roof09.JPG 2907 hits | 41.68 KB | Posted: 12/16/06 This foam adhered a little more to the roof than the other, but it comes away easily. (Posted in: Headliner "Repair")
01MCNuts.JPG 1128 hits | 62.77 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 To start, remove the 2 nuts holding the master cylinder to the booster. The R one is very difficult to get to because of the residual pressure valve on that side. (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
02Booster.JPG 1083 hits | 93.17 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 Move the wiring harness connector bracket off the studs, then pull the master cylinder forward to allow clearance for the booster. The brake lines do not need to be disconnected, even if they're hard steel. They can be bent safely. (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
03UnderDash.JPG 1055 hits | 88.43 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 It might be possible to make the swap without doing this, but I removed the knee bolster for easier access under the dash. (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
05UnderDash.JPG 878 hits | 78.29 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 Unplug the cruise switch at the top L. Pull the hairpin (yellow on this car) & slide the brake switch (BOO) and booster pushrod off of the pedal peg. It's NOT necessary to unplug the BOO. Pry the plastic bushing rearward (toward the camera) out of... (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
06Pedals.JPG 1780 hits | 52.31 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 The typical pedals (L) are fairly easy to interchange with the power-adjustable pedals (R). The hardest part of the swap is physically removing & replacing the brake pedal assemblies because of interference at the steering shaft & PCM. (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
07Boosters.JPG 1236 hits | 56.15 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 My old POLice booster has suffered from a leaking master cylinder reservoir, but it still worked fine. The booster for the power pedals has its eye for the brake pedal lever's peg offset to the top. Otherwise, they're identical. (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
08FirewallOut.JPG 962 hits | 57.2 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 Just a (blurry) shot of the firewall with the booster removed. (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
09FirewallIn.JPG 973 hits | 91.64 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 Just a shot of the firewall with the pedals & plastic shim removed. (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
10Brake.JPG 1127 hits | 87.35 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 The hardest part of the swap was getting the booster, shim, & brake pedal back into place. It's necessary to remove the accelerator assembly, so it's fortunate that the cable joining them has a quick-disconnect. The power brake base is MUCH larger ... (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
11Up.JPG 1103 hits | 92.71 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 The accelerator pedal also took some effort since the studs on this firewall were SLIGHTLY too close together, making it difficult to get both steel bushings over them.
This shows the pedals in the full UP (rearward) position. (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)
12Down.JPG 1163 hits | 94.74 KB | Posted: 12/7/06 Here are the pedals at the full DOWN (forward) position. It's a lot more impressive to see them moving than these still pics show. (Posted in: Power Adjustable Pedals)

Wreck05.jpg 1554 hits | 52.04 KB | Posted: 12/18/06 This fender is bent here, and pushed back against the passenger door. It also carried the hood back on this side, making it turn & overlap here. (Posted in: Wreck)

Wreck07.jpg 3105 hits | 60.56 KB | Posted: 12/18/06 Both airbags deployed, even though I was only going about 5mph. Obviously, when the core support hit the bumper, it was enough impact to trip the sensor. (Posted in: Wreck)

Wreck13.jpg 2566 hits | 62.67 KB | Posted: 12/18/06 The header panel clipped the gold speaker wire for my RV mirror temperature sensor, and even though it went into the condenser core, it didn't rupture it. It's still getting replaced, though. (Posted in: Wreck)

Wreck15.jpg 2636 hits | 71.84 KB | Posted: 12/18/06 The bumper cover is shredded, but I was able to push it back into place. The bumper itself wasn't touched. (Posted in: Wreck)
