Help, We're getting confusing information. My son and I are planning on swapping the tired 5.0 engine in his 88 towncar with soemthing with a little more umph. The idea is for us to build a 5.0 over the winter and have it ready for the road in spring (Buffalo has long winters). The existing car does not have a mass air sensor, it has a speed density system. We've been told that the existing computer will not allow for any aftermarket parts, or a newer 5.0. What kind of modifications do we have to do to do this? Any help or insight is appreciated.

Thanks,
