I replaced the upper and lower ball joints and bushing on my 1999 Crown Victoria. I noticed that the base of one of my sprigs is not properly seated on the lower control arm . the end of the coil is not sitting in the lowest point of the control arm where it should be. Will it eventually rotate the 3 inches or so to re-position itself properly or will I have to drop the lower control arm again? .

I just changed my control arms this summer. 3in is a long way for that spring to travel especially since the mount at the top of the spring could have a very thin piece of rubber that will not allow it to spin. I would drop the control arm and re-position. You only need to drop the ball joint end a very short distance and if you just replaced it you should be able to get it off with minimum force. Put a floor jack under the control arm and lower it slowly until the spring rotates.

Good Luck.
