Since the 35's are mounted on 14" wide wheels you get a rub when you turn and hit a bump at the same time, so it only happens EVERY time I pull in my driveway. Daystar has coil spring spacers that will fill the bill. Another trip to 4Wheel Parts. Picked up the Daystars and a set of Pro-Comp adjustable camber bushing for that positive camber problem that I know is coming. Jacked the front end up and started removing the coil springs. Also removed the 6 cheap ass coil knuckles that Gomer saw fit to plug in the springs, had to take the coils out of the truck and use a saws all to cut them in half. Mounted the Daystars and then the knuckless coils back in. Fairly straight forward job, effective too! I will have to get help removing the old camber bushings though, couldn't get them out.....on to the allignment shop....

12/12/05Repair158500Guages/Front Windshield
Got tired of looking at old electrical gauges that might not be working correctly so it's time for the mechanical ones. I added a new temp and oil pressure gauge set to the interior. Also had the front windshield replaced. Now she's road ready and legal to boot. All interior lighting is now working and all exterior as well, tags lights included!!

12/10/05Modification158300Junk Yard Road Trip
Time for a new back tailgate with glass, door locks that match...and work, as well as a few other little items.......seatbelts just to mention one of them. After a 2.5 hour trip (in my '05 F-150 of course) I got new door panels, new tailgate with glass, new locks and KEYS to the locks, visors and a spare tire holder with a spare. Also got seatbelts and mounting hardware........

11/12/05Repair158220Electrical NIGHTMARE
Who ever had this thing before me had something against the factory wiring. Time to chase down some of these little gremlins. Headlights first. 30 minutes in and I figured out that "GOMER" the previous owner must have jumpered the low beams to the parking lights for a reason. A quick trace led me to the culprit, a bad dimmer switch. $5 later and the headlights are working fine...brights too!! Now for the brake lights, "GOMER" strikes again, they are wired to the fuse panel??? My trusty tester leads me to the wires going to the brake pedal switch which are both just about torn through, a few cuts and some solder later and the brake lights are back in the game...

11/10/05Modification158200Catalytic WHAT???
While I was laying under the beast I noticed that it didn't have a muffler or a pesky old catalytic converter. The local muffler shop liked the missing CAT as well, got them another $120 as they HAVE to install one before they can do my duals......$$$ Now the beast has a new "Free-Flow" cat, Flowmaster 40 series single in and two out with 3" chrome tips. Nice job too!!

10/25/05Repair158100Suspension Time
Replaced all 6 shocks and ordered steering stabilizer. Also replaced factory pitman arm with 4" drop Pro-Comp pitman arm, then eyeballed the toe situation and adjusted as needed. Shocks are white with black boots....

10/17/05Repair158025More Brakes PLEASE!!
Okay, over $300 in and still have a severe pull to the left when braking........Replaced hard line to front right, still not it. Replaced both front rubber lines with Pro-Comp SS braided lines.....Nice, but still pulls. I went the extra 100 yards and bought and replaced the proportioning valve ($120 dealer only item!), still no luck. Finally went against my gut feel and bought front pads and rotors, and after 3 hours replacing rotors and pads the hard left pull is much more manageable but still slightly there. Two days later the rear metal line going to the left read blows. Replaced it and the rear rubber line with the Pro-Comp SS braided that came with the front two.......Bleeding the system AGAIN!!!!!! not much left besides the pedal from the original brakes.........

10/15/05Repair158016Where do I begin??
Okay, what's first?? I guess brakes rank up there pretty high on the "NEED 'EM" scale so I'll go there first.
Completely rebuilt rear brakes, drums, spring kits, shoes, wheel cyls etc, etc. Right rear was completely gone with no linings or springs left intact inside the drum...NICE!!
on to the front. Pads and rotors look good, replaced calipers and bled system. Still soft over all, major vacuum leak coming from power booster so back to the parts store for a booster and master. Mission accomplished????

09/01/05Repair158000Bought The Beast
My search for a project Bronco ended today. I think I might be in over my head. Asking price was $2900. Got him down to $2600 before the trip over and the test drive. Test drive was enough to scare another $200 off the price for me!! White knuckles and all, made the final offer of $2400 and he accepted......
Here's what I got:
1985 Ford bronco XLT with 5.8, 4 speed manual, 6" lift, 15-35-15.5 TSL SX Swampers with 14" wide rims. No interior lights, no brake lights, no reverse lights. Headlights wired to parking lights. No fuel gauge, radio, or working turn signals. Rear brakes GONE, front brakes barely working, no drop pitman arm, bad shocks. Cracked front windshield, and more fluid leaks than you can shake a bag of oil dry at.......The wife isn’t so happy with my new find....
