removed the pre-heat intake off of the air cleaner housing so it could be rotated to clear the choke setup, and got it put it back on... Much better than the GM two barrel cleaner housing i had on i for a couple days that bottle necked air into the carb and starved for fuel just into 3rd a about 2700 to 3000 rpm-cruising speed... | 0.00 | | 11/02/10 | Repair | | kick down linkage
Re hooked the shift down linkage from the carb o the C6, it had come undone... re-adjusted it to kick in sooner.

spent 4 hours with a buddy, at another friends shop, changing my tires... the old fashioned way... We broke down, pulled, and re mounted 4 tires by hand... And swapped them onto the truck.
Stepped up a tire size, about 1.5" or 2" bigger, looks better, should help mileage some. But the big thing was going from 10 year old worn out all weather street treads to studded ATs... Traction! These are used tires, matched for size pretty good, but we put the more worn ones on the back to get me better tracking and 4x4 traction on the front.
Worked great too, went ahead and put them on the truck without being balanced/without weights... No vibration, or feedback.. I think it actually has less steering feedback than it had with the other tires. Great!

Todays progress was changing the front brake pads ... trying to get it fully functional since I'm starting to drive it for the winter. Rotors are grooved pretty good from the rivets in the old pads rubbing, but well withing safe/working specs so I went ahead and left them for a later swap. Doesn't stop any better though... think I might need to do the back too soon.
Update; 11/01/10 stops good now, just took time for the pads to wear in.
