Hey you some good stuff there, and you can do more. Ever heared of decking your block? decking is when you shave the top of your block giving you a higher compression chamber ratio. then theres boring the cylinders to the bigger pistons. you also have advancing the camshaft not the crankshaft but the camshaft. while your in there you can make it a stroker engine. stroker engine is when you take the crankshaft and replace it with a longer stroke crankshaft and longer push rods. But in order to do this you have to shave some of the lower portion of your cylinder to give room for the push rods so they won't rub, crack, or break your cylinder wall. your more like putting a notch in the bottom of the cylinder. one more tip you can also bore out your intake valves and replace them with bigger valve to allow more air to flow into the chamber. theirs no worries about exhaust because the piston will force the air out. just bore the intake valves. doing this you MIGHT need stronger valve springs and rocker arms.
P.S. do you have a better ignion computer or upgraded distirbutor coil. these thing will put you in a next level. V8's are hard to perform because their expensive for parts but their worth the money and time. and when you step into the big boys you can add turbo and nos. forget it the com.....
