07/10/06 | Repair | 46480 | Wheel Bearings (Unitized) The passenger unitized hub basically disinitgrated after we did a 700 mile trip up through the Denali Highway (July 1-3). Got home and drive the vehicle the next day and noticed an awful grinding sound and the brakes were acting like they had a bubble in the line. Parked it on the 4th. Jacked up the passenger side and the bearings were shot. More than a .5 inch of play. The left hub came off ok but the passenger one broke 5 wrachets trying to bust loose the spindle nut. Finally some CO2, an impact gun and a large hammer convinced it to dislodge. Took them back to Schucks and got them replaced for free because of the warrenty. I had ordered another set of replacement bearings on the 5th. | 0.00 |

04/01/06 | Damage | 42500 | Tranny and body Went on a run to Knik and sustained some ice chunks damaging the body. Rear right quarter panel crushed in. Time for some upgraded panels
Coming out of the ice hole a piece got lodged under the tranny pan and crushed it up enough to restrict flow to the tranny. It shut down and wouldn't engage at all. Got towed home and then the next day used Josh's code reader to clear the code and restore power to the tranny after taking off the pan and beating it back out and refilling with fresh fluid. When I purchased it from Ed, he had ordered it through Rubicon Express back in May/Jun time frame. They didn't send the second package of the trans adaptor and all the bolts and that took a few months to sort out. Ed still had to eat the cost of the package. About 100. Then we found out while installing it, that it was for a manual, not an auto and instead of wasting more time, we just hacked on it. | 0.00 |

09/15/05 | Miscellaneous | 35125 | Change of dealership After leaving Lithia, I went over to Chrysler dealership by Merrill Field. Talked with Craig Komis (Service Advisor) about the problem and he refered me to the Service Manager Kurt Grau or Quality Control Roy Archer.
15 Sept 05: Returned with Jeep and spoke with Roy and he said "No problem, we can fix it all under warrenty" until he saw the paperwork saying that Kelley had already gotten involved. He would start talking to Kelley to try to get me off the black list and my Warrenty reinstated.
20 Sept 05: I called, talked to Roy and he said that he had spoken with Kelley and had not gotten an answer back yet. | 0.00 |
09/14/05 | Repair | 35125 | Warrenty work denied Service Advisor/manager Alex Ziegler called (answering machine) to say there were problems and they were bringing in the Factory Rep Kelley Lynn.
I told them to call me when the rep gets there so I could be there when he looked at it. They did not call me, but called me after he left.
They found a broken front drivers side U-joint (caps had spun off the outer stub shaft yokes), They told me that Kelly had physically looked at everything, took pictures, and denied the claim based on "oversized lift and tires". Alex also said that they tried to get the stuff repaired under warrenty but Alex denied it. I declined repairs. They still ordered the parts to fix the seat belt and door latch. I take it back for those 2 things on the 25th. That will be the last time ever going to Lithia.
They charged me $70 to look at stuff and deny my warrenty and black list me.

They also lock up on any kind of incline.
They scheduled me for 13 Sept 05. I would be at the M16 Range on tuesday, so I dropped it off Monday afternoon. | 0.00 |

07/16/05 | Modification | 32920 | Replace Radiator Bought a new radiator from Performance Radiators on Saturday, 16 July 2005 to replace stock unit. We pulled the old stabilizer and installed the new one in Jerry driveway while reviewing TOPO maps of the boulder area. | 0.00 |
07/07/05 | Damage | 32400 | Leaking radiator overflow bottle While changing the steering stabilizer, I noticed some fluid leaking down on some parts beneath engine. Upon further investigation, I found that when I took off the fan and shroud and replaced it with the electric fan I had to mount the coolant overflow bottle back in somewhere. I had strapped it to the approx original location that it had been. But, since it was a little too low, the steering shaft/u-joint had rubbed a hole in the bottle bottom. Had Oddball take the bottle home to see if he could fix it. Looked at radiator fluid and it was low, but not critical. After I got home I put some fluid in to top it off and it took more than what I thought it should. | 0.00 |
