About the 1972–1976 Ford Ranchero
The 1972–1976 Gran Torino Ranchero shows up here in all stages of ownership — from a red '72 parked among daily drivers to paint booth tear-downs with the grille pulled, suspension work with wheels off, and engine bays sporting chrome air filters and MSD ignition boxes. Whether they're lined up at outdoor car shows with hoods popped or sitting clean in blue against a tree-lined backdrop, these builds capture the full spectrum of what owners are doing with this generation.
The story
Bought on e-bay. The owner said he repainted car and put nice tires and wheels on it. Should have had someone personaly inspect it, The finish had a white mist in it from overnight dew. When I started seeing paint blisters, I decided to strip the paint since this was the second paint. There was little bondo on it from small dents and dings. The rear wheel fender lips were starting to have heavy rust. I sent car the body shop where they fabricated new wheel lips and patched lower rear panels. They painted it with black and clear coat. Looks great. Just need to replace windshield as previous owner scratched the glass with grinder. I Replaced the seat cover and freshened up the inter with paint — wvayn
