I just started to round up a few parts to lift my blazer but need help if you or anyone you know has lifted a k5 please give me some input on what I need.I have 4in. lift springs,4 in.block, new Ubolts, brake line extensions,3in.body lift.the main thing I need to know is if I need a new steering arm and or longer shocks and if I need a wedge to put in the front or just set it on the new springs?

the front springs should be fine with no tappered block, you do need a raised steering arm, and new shocks to compensate for the lift. Sounds good otherwise with new brake lines, blocks rear etc etc....with the 3" body lift you may run into other linkage issues especially with the t-case.

If you don't know about the blazer site...look around here

What size tires are you trying to fit on there?

I ask b/c I'm gonna try to talk you out of putting on a 3" body lift. Harder on the mounts, linkage problems, gotta move stuff for cooling and the frame becomes so visible.... why not put on a 2" or 1".

Kris has 35s on his with no lift although his doesn't flex all that well and does rub a little. I'd think with a 1" BL, a 4" suspension & proper bumpstops you'd be able to clear 37s... but I'm no expert

Ah..... sweet.

Is 7" the usual amount of lift necessary for getting them under there?

Yeah you might need atleast 6" to make them fit...we do have a smaller body lift here 1 3/4" if you are interested in something smaller than 3".....I am putting in a 1" BL

Marc runs a 6" black diamond lift with 39.5" TSLs and a little hacking of the fenders on his blazer
