I had already made plans that weekend to do the stereo in my Ranger. And until I get it fixed, Hoss isn't going anywhere. |

Got an e-mail today:
Just to make sure everyone knows what's going on this weekend, the Spillway in Norco, LA is the place to be. There may be a problem though. As of this afternoon June 30th the water was getting really close to the bridge which means that it's about 6 foot deep or deeper. Now if the Spillway is a wash for the weekend then you know there's always RED CREEK OFF ROAD PARK!!!! Also don't forget that the following weekend is our July 12-13 Night ride Bon fire. So far it sounds like there will be plenty of people so don't be scared.
Thanks,
Chris "NOT4SHW"

XJ is starting to get dangerously close to a "maybe" for the 4th....
Still waiting on the rear end & steering gear. Even when I get it back, I'll still need to plumb the brakelines, get the perches welded on and get it aligned so.... unless I can manage to do that before Thursday night I might be there solely for photographic purposes.
Here's my "checklist"
get rear end back
add Brakelines
add perches
get perchwes welded
get new steering stuff
install new steering stuff
add .75" to front
alignment
t-case linkage adjustment
All of which (minus alignment) I could do in one night ... assuming I get the stuff in time.... Plus, aren't you supposed to do a light 500M on the new gears then change the fluid? I don't think I'd be able to resist and would probably dog it in the spillway too much..... FAWK! I've been looking forward to this for a long time....

Got the t-case linkage done, added .75 to the front and lowered the front brakelines about 2" ..... so
Here's my new "checklist"
get rear end back
add Brakelines
add perches
get perchwes welded
get new steering stuff
install new steering stuff
alignment
I think I might also have to get longer front shocks. Only have about 3" of drop on them right now and about 8" of compression.... that or throw on some cheesy extensions.....
Anyway, as the hours tick away, it looks worse for me making it to the 4th in the XJ ..... especially if the 500m on the rear end thing is true.....
On the good side of stuff, I have a ton of ebay auctions going, and some jackass is actually buying my stock springs ..... up to $70 only the second day...
