ok, after I drive for about 15 - 20 minutes doing 60-70 oil starts coming out of my crankcase breather and leaking onto my manifold creating a smoke screen not good for people behind me, I noticed also that my oil pressure just slowly gets higher and higher till it happens, I also noticed one day when I got stuck in the mud that I fouled out my #6 and #7 plugs and maybe #5, due to oil on the plug, I was full throttle for too long trying to get out and that's the only time my truck blows smoke out the exhaust is when my rpm's get between 4500 and 5000, could bad rings be the cause of oil coming out the crankcase breather? or could something be clogged in the engine to cause the pressure to continuously build even while maintaining the same rpm, the sooner I find out the sooner I can fix it and start going on club rides, so any ideas are greather appreciated

bad rings would cause oil to mix with the gas.....

I'd change the PCV valve

Is it overheating?

Too much oil?

already changed the pcv valve and it kinda prolonged it, before I changed it I could only drive 10 minutes before oil starting coming out the crankcase breather, guess I'll try changing it again and see what happens, could have gotten ahold of a bad one, and I check the oil everyday and I'm usually low due to a bad rear seal, thanks

pressure building in the crankcase is usually caused by a blockage in the engine or oil restrictors in the heads, what do you have on the other valve cover? check to see if you can blow through the bottom of the pcv valve its a one way valve so you should only be able to get air through that way, how high is the pressure getting? are you only using the factory gauge? the oil pressure should be at its highest only when you first start it when its cold because of the check valve in the pump. when you take off any thing ontop of your valve covers can you see your rocker arms? if so then let the motor warm up and pull whatever it is off and look for a faint smoke comming out of the hole that is your blowby. if not get an extra set of valve covers and cut the tops of them off so you can see. or you can elimanate the pcv valve alltogether and put breathers on both sides and block off the vacume line of course this doesnt fix the problem just eleminates the smoke

thanks schmuck, on the drivers side valve cover is my crankcase breather, and on the passenger side is my pcv valve, I'll check that pcv valve like ya said, and after my engine warms up and I pull off my filler cap I can see a faint smoke in there, and yes I'm only using my factory gauge so I don't know the exact pressure of my oil, on my gauge is has "Norm" usually the needle is at the N or barely between that and the O, but when on highway at 60-70 it slowly goes up to around M and oil starts coming out that crankcase breather, I've already taken it off the road cause of it and as soon as I can find another job I'm gonna pull the motor and bore it .30 over drop in a 400 crank and put a four barrel on, also have really bad bearings on the front right tire and need to change the hub lock, but the motor is my main concern right now cause with it running that way I'll never be able to go far enough to go muddin, it's a shame that I've had it for nearly a year and never got to do any serious muddin with it, just light muddin in 2wd, thanks for the info guys

check to see if your breather on your other valve cover is blocked, that can cause the pressure to rise since the heated air has no where to go except through the pcv valve and blow past your piston rings, and you should run a mechanical gage they tend to be a little more accurite

haven't gotten around to it yet cause I've been looking for a job plus I don't have a tag for the truck or insurance on it so I can't take it on the road, but I'm gonna check the pcv valve today, and the crankcase breather is full of oil so I'm going to change that next week and try to take it for a drive at night and pray I don't get seen by a cop, I'm also gonna check my front wheel bearings because I think the ones on the passenger side are shot, and the ones on the left are bad, so I'm gonna check those and change them next week if they're bad, if I get a job at this place I'm trying then I'm also gonna pull the motor and strip it down and see if I have any clogs anywhere and bore and stroke it and bolt on a four barrel, no places to legally mud around here so I need to get it into shape so I can drive far enough to go on club rides

Is this fuel injected or carbed.. because fuel injector throttle bodies get clogged and cause back pressure in engine.. My buddies used to blow his dipstick out and spray oil everywhere till we took off the throttle body and cleaned it... Might be the same with carbs.. May just need the vacum jurnals cleaned...
Hell it wouldnt hurt anyway...

Eat , Drink, Mud... What else is there?
