Maybe time to form the LMTC (Louisiana Motorized Trail Coalition) much like Texas did (TMTC). Get our own land. Something to toss around in your sleep...there is 2BB, LA4x4, and the guys from North Louisiana- the name escapes me. I know I am tired of driving more than 3 hours to get my wheels dirty. I am willing to listen to ideas and put it up in front of our club. We have 100 members. I think with 200 to 300 members in one organized coalition, buying land would not be unthinkable at all. Especialy if we can scrounge up grant money and or sponsors. We already have the non-profit set up.

Lets do this. We have power in numbers. And we can organize and lobby our local reps to back us.

And i own page 2

It would have to be a consolidated effort. What do you think about getting the ATVs involved?? Patick, we would really need your help with the big fellas. LA4x4 doesn't exactly have a great image to the guys with fullsize rigs.

Im up for helping out anyway I can. You all know me.. I like to look out for the best interest for the club. Im even up for enforcing RULES within the club. Im not gonna mention any names but there are a few people I have warned about not following the rules and they just keep on ignoring me. Next time I see it happen I will rip any of our club decals off their vehicle. That goes for not following our rules and the rules of the area we are riding in. Foolish acts reflects bad on all of us not just yourself. I know there are some other guys down in New Orleans that probably wouldnt mind lending a hand or 2. Deep South Early Broncos. So Patrick find out what we can do to help and let me know. Maybe its about time that some of us long term members and higher powers sit down and have a meeting........ and a couple ......

The ATV guys stick to their side of the hwy, it's setup that way to avoid accidents, so don't plan on help from them.

We'll all have to talk this over ... over a few and see what we can come up with. I think we definitely have the manpower to work the land between the 3 clubs, assuming everyone is willing to pitch in and be nice . I also think that with 3 or 4 shops pitching in (Lite Line, Mud Hole, 4x4 Specialties...) we might be taken a little more seriously and have a better chance at getting it reopened.

I'm gonna call the guy again tomorrow morning and see what he can tell me, I'll keep ya posted...

As for buying land .... well that is totally different ... But I know if someone opened an Offroad park anywhere near BR they make a killing off of poser LSU kids alone

Just noticed this post ......

yeah, you'd think that with all the 4x4 manufacturers based in LA there would be at least one OHV Park around here....

Lance, if you think that the fullsize guys aren't feeling the love from LA4x4 send them this way, we'll take care of em. Better for them to be with some organization than out on their own doing lawn jobs er something.....

Rob, you still have that card image? Perhaps it's time to make a membership push. Fall is coming up, should be a whole new batch of youngsters that will be eager to get their units dirty.

Didn't forget about this....

Called again today and now the ranger in charge is out of town. So this is going to be a slow process. Other ranger I spoke with today told me they are looking to set it up similarly to the ATV side in terms of "control". He said they will be looking for man hours as well as some $$ never said how much.

I think a good few good weekends of "fixing" the road parts (the reason they were upset was that their guys couldn't access all parts on their ATVs) and possibly putting up some signs about the rules, where to wheel, maybe even trail (mud hole) names, etc and we'd be good to go. This is only what I think after a few conversations with the assistants though.... so I could be wrong.

I hoping to get as much involvement from any other LA clubs and hopefully a few stores can sponsor whatever physical labor can't do.

Lance, any pull with Lite Line? Maybe a few of you New Orleans guys could run this past the Mud Hole & 4x4 Specialties once we get the details and see if they'd be able to lend some funds for signs or whatever else we'd need.

Maybe once this thing is up and going again, there could be more stipulations. Maybe clubs only, so that someone could be held liable (I guess rethinking this, that would limit usage maybe too much). Just a thought. There just needs to be more accountability on future misuse/abuse. What about LORVA ( http://www.lorva.org/ )? Is that org still active at all? They should be willing to assist.
