Franchise Fee.

But, it could also be done w/o doing that. With them, you are connected to every vendor. If it were just starting up, it would be harder to get in good with a vendor-if that makes any sense.

Fuck all of you...now we're not friends. Get it on!

ok, i did retail paintball back in 1989-1991 LONG, LONG before any of yall knew anything about it.

franchise fees can be good, they can be bad.

good:
1) no individual dealer mininum orders.
HYPOTHETICAL you want atlas transfer cases? advanced adapters says buy 5000 in parts before you get dealer pricing. then you get dealer pricing of say 20% under retail. they may give companies like 4wph 25% off. so they can always price match you since they buy volume. so the franchise fee puts you on a better discount tier. and you dont have to front the 5000 or so to EACH company.

2) good selection of parts/vendors and should be a good supply line.

bad:

1) royalties they can kill you if they are high. also if you discount stuff are the royalties on retail, wholesale, or profit margin?

2) no individual dealer ties. what are thier vendors> what if Shiznit 4x4 opens next month and they have invented bread slicing? can you convince your franchise to pick up Shiznit 4x4? if they wont, can you contact Shiznit 4x4 yourself?

3) do they have a good vendor base? or all thier vendors weird brands that arent popular? Shiznit 4x4 that makes a bread slicer that slices bread 1/4" wont sell..... get my point?

BUT im game. i MAY be able to get money, I can definitly donate time i.e, work in the mo fo, and im not stupid and can turn a wrench...... I say we look at the "bottoms" too. Patrick is right. close to lsu is nice. plus we can probably get a tax break from the city for moving down thier. PROPERTY IS CHEAP, plus i bet i could get the cops to ride by and check on it alot javascript:emoticon('');

NOTE: The "bottoms" is from govt to chimes, river road to the interstate.

i like light line, but ive never had the "feel" when i went in there... make sense?

im willing to pay more for stuff if the place treats me with respect. crap on me and ill mailorder it.......
there really isnt a GREAT shop in baton rouge... but thats my opinion.....

Lee, I agree with everything you said.... except....

I had a paintball gun when they were still the Pistols that the Farmers, Loggers & Ranchers used to mark trees & livestock .... a nelson or something.... had one barrell for shotting the other helds the balls and they just dropped down, holds like 10 shots and the paint doesn't wash out Course that was still back around 90 so I wasn't in it from the beginning...

and yes I still have a few "won't wash out" paintballs that I use in certain situations

Oh and Rob got his new TJ. I believe it's a Blue Sport edition with the straight six but I'll let him fill you in on details.

We're running out of Broncos ...

For the location, I was thinking something on the south side of LSU since there is a ton of unused land over there

no way any of us could afford land on the south side. its locked up. we cant compete with develpers. and paying for prime retail isnt worth it. people need a place to go that the employees are cool. north side will be cheaper, MUCH cheaper. the location is fairly irrelevant i think. we have to watch capital, and you can always move. north side of campus allows the clowns to ride by and check on the progress!

it was a nelson paintball marker, oil based paint. it wasnt supposed to wash off

splatmasters were NEW, the rapide (semi) came years later. you couldnt buy paint locally in 1989.

but i digress. speedball started in 1990, and i could have bought the franchise for here. it was great, just NO customer base.

Yeap it offical there is another Jeep in the Club. Its a 2002 Blue Sport with some decal work on the sides, havent decided if its staying on there.

Opening a shop sounds great. I hope we can make it happen. Just wondering does anyone know if 4 Wheelparts is a franchise or not. I have alwaya wondered why they didnt have a store in Louisiana.

While we are on the subject of paintball, anyone know anyone that is looking for some equipment?
I got a tricked out Shocker Turbo w/ 88 cu. in. tank, 2 spyders, and loads of extra stuff I need to sell not to mention I still have that in-dash Sony monitor...............

Rob, I only saw them in the dark, but you know how I feel about decals like that .....

Where ever it is is fine with me, especially since this is all still totally hypothetical. I just figured with the open space on the south side (I wouldn't think it is too expensive over by GSRI/Nicholson or even on River Road) maybe we could make a "testing grounds"

We need to figure out what'd we'd need in way of employees .... and I don't think it's a good idea to have 8 bosses either .....

I tell you too many chiefs and not enough indians is never good.....

I'll be indentured slave number 1

Without a doubt fellas we got the workmanship and ability to do it BUT do any of us really have the time to put into "trying" to see if we could really pull some sort of $ and business out of it. Sure, its a dream to all of us big kids, and i'd love to see it given a shot. Without a doubt we have quite a few good members who can make sales and run the retail side of business, we have some good advertisement,

$*#@$*@*##*@$FLASH TO THE FUTURE$@#$#@@$#@@$#
A bashed white blazer hacked to hell sitting on 44's looking down to his yellow bellied bronco budy on 38's, right in the middle of the tailgating crowd during a LSU football game with "DELTA 4x4 ~~We Don't Need To Dig Deep~~" written all over it.
$#@$@#$#@$@#$@ BACK TO PRESENT~!@#!@~!#@~#@!#!@

And many master fabricators, and of course I could handle the almighty and task I am best at by sitting the sidelines and drinking the beer.

Remember that all of our "Friends" --Past and present-- may try their best to get in on something like this if and when it takes off. I think a shop on the southside would be one of a kind and definately one of the first shops with a teams that knows a good bit about fullsize vehicles as well.

Without having a place near by to ride, it will be a hard sell.

Well I think a small test area would be cool but may be too expensive.

As far as not having a place to ride.... you forget that there are tons of kids from out of town/state that want to do stuff to their trucks .... and there are way more "posers" that want to put the standard 33" BFG and 3" body lift on their late model cheby to look cool for football games. Hence my original reasoning of keeping it closer to LSU ....
