So during class I jotted down some reasons for:
Not keeping my blazer:
--COstly foundation to repair including rust in the floors, rockers, fenders and doors
-- got bondo?
-- rear springs and hitch needs to have frame repairs
-- new front fender, hack rear fender
Getting a new blazer
-- full convert or emmissions exept truck
-- straight frame / body
-- lift it anyway from the start
-- grille swap to late model
-- clean title as my 84 has already been totalled once before and has a reconditioned title
-- easy to swap my interior, engine, tranny, axle, axles
Donzi:
I could get the FJ but that at this poitn would require way to much fabrication and would be more of a restoration project than I have time for, I would probably just as quickly snag rob's 79 and make it a ford/chevy thing... Sticking with a chevy I can easily bolt it all up and roll pretty quick....
Patrick or Rob do you rememebr if that 76 black blazer in the junkyard was a 2wd or 4wd? I can't remember its exact condition but it may be worth taking a look at on friday for rust problems and major body damage. I want a full convert bad.....

I passed Buffalo Wild Wings and they had a bad ass convertable in the parking lot. A light blue color I think. I used to have a friend who had one convertable blazer, and a matching 2x truck (no convert). |

I think you'd be best off fixing what you have or getting a "new" tub/frame and transplanting shit to that.
I think aside from fixing the frame we can easily (and possibly cheaper than getting a new tub) repair your body. Cut what we want, some light Bondo and bedline the rest. Course I say this and haven't seen the damage..... Maybe you need to look into estimates for replacing the fender.
Really If you want it to look show quality go with a new tub/body. If you have any intention of really dogging it on the trail then screw the body work... I am starting to wish I had gotten an older body style so I could just beat the piss out of it....besides, studies have shown that vehicles with body damage are less often cut off by other drivers
COurse, if I had been JR and rolled mine I would have cut the top, put in a full cage & bikini and called it a day ... but that's just me. I have paint aversion syndrome.

Oh well, hindsight is always 20/20. Thinking on it, I probably shouldn't have tried to get it back into shape like I did. I should have taken the insurance $ and ran.
I've got a body/paint guy if you don't want to do it yourself. |

Call me when you get home or just come to my house .... I'll probably be in the backyard hanging out in the "pool" trying to beat the heat

I don't suppose the "pool" is near comfy enough for both of us unless we really want to get to know each other a little more personal....
