In case anybody is interested I have a lead on an 82' Wag limited 360/tf727/208 It runs and is located in Baton Rouge. Here is the email I got from the owner:

Hey man,

Sorry it ook so long to reply, I have been xtremely busy at work. Where do you live? What kind of wag are you lookin for???? I have one I bought for parts that I drove a little and everything worked...82 limited, 360/auto/208 that once you stripped the interior, ground off the faded wood grain, chopped off the top, gave it a little tune up, put bigger tires on it, and put a cage in it, would be SOOOOO FUUUUUN!

anyway, I have 600 in it (with the traile rI had to rent) but I would take 500. I also have an 87 with a MUCH better body and interior, but I won't let you cut the top off that one.

Andy

I don't have his contact info yet but I'll forward to anyone who is interested.

----Jeff

Jeff .... since you are the resident waggy guru ... what do you think about these?

I'd love to have one to beat the bejesus out of....

Think he'd take $400?

These are good solid trucks. The main weak link is the amc20 rear but your good up to 35" and still can romp it. The 208 is a part time case that is pretty solid and the 727 is a decent tranny. I didn't talk to him personally but money talks. His email is andyhull77@cox.net

I wanted to buy this and chop the top but my wife isn't too happy about multiple trucks in the yard It isn't an awesome steal or anything but it is a good deal for a solid 4x4. Also, the front 44 could probably bring in a couple hundred from a swb jeeper!!! The CJ guys love these front 44's from old waggy's.

I haven't seen the truck or the owner so I don't know what to expect but my truck ran like crap and all it needed was a tune up and some gaskets changed.

Well I'd need a selectable one since the front shafts on the XJ are always engaged ... that or I'd need to do the Warn conversion and get a detroit er something....
