bolts on the axle cover (gear cover)
hoss, you need a 60 front, 14bolt rear fo sho with your tires.
even then 44's are hard on those axles.

Are those the stoutest aside from 2.5 ton?

Josh, consider it sold!!! I will take either one. I have 3.55 gearing now so the 60 would be a straight bolt in. I also have carriers and spiders for the higher gears already too so no big deal to go up a gear.

Where are you wrenching this wekend?? I might be able to give you a hand...if I don't have too much work this weekend!!!

dana 70 is the strongest i know of till you get into the rockwell axles but i think pretty much soley dodge used them and if im not mistaken the bolt number is actualy the number of bolts used to hold the ring gear to the carrier

Yeah the d60 would be a good swap for you if you are already geared 3.55. The internals looked good when I looked at them, I was gonna disk break that axle if I kept it,.... Looks like I will be after the 14ff I can pick it up and convert it to what i want for way cheaper than the d60 now, that gearing fawked me up. 14ff weighs way more than the d60 though and hangs a bit lower as well...
