If you can get a stainless steel whip from radio shack It will be fine...
Stainless is the way to go.. Takes a beating and really cant be broken...
I think Coy just put one on his truck..
I personally would say spend the money on a quality ant.. (K40- or Wilson ) but if you just want to talk to people near you it doesnt matter..
By the way Our last convoy was so long.That we had a guy in back and a guy in front (me) with powerfull CBs just so we could comunicate.. Some of the weaker cbs couldnt talk to the end of the line...
But if you have a choice buy a cheap cb and a good ant.. Because that will get you talking and later you can upgrade the CB.. If you spend all your money on an expensive cb .. It wont matter because you will never be heard thru your crap antennea..

yeah they are for the most part you need to know what your looking for, i was just saying that to get him started every thing can be upgraded later if you dont have the money now. my cb and whip are both from raido shack but my wire and mount are from a truck stop and i transmitt and recive fine plus im running at about 1.2-1.5swrs the only problem i have is truck related its that i cant find a way to run rhe cable with out crushing it and having to replace it every few months witch im about due for
nucking futs
