Long story short, I wrenched until about 1 am this morning and not even on my own shiznit.....turns out a guy came into pepboys for a new battery, which turned out to be an alternator...454BB so right in my league, the mechanics were gone so i started the job 8:45ish...on the clock messing with the battery since 8.....bout 9:30 they log me off the clock...by 10 I had the new alt on the belt tight and right on my last turn of the wrench i went full power 12 V to gound and killed the starter....installed a new starter and selonoid....still something more major was blown...no radio no start....grrr...trouble shot his whole electrical system I mean everything...I still have it in my head...3 batteries. and 5 different selonoids, a battery isolator and 2 main fuse blocks....all of this was interconnected and wound together through many links...reminded me of working on Kris's truck that night cuz it started raining...i got all nice and crappy wet....WHY?
Well the guy's daughter was getting married in FL on saturday, his wife is doing all the arrangements etc etc...they wanted to be in gainsville by noon...10 hrs from BR...so he rolled out of bo peeps with a new battery, starter and alternator.....I ended up hot wiring a lead to the main selonoid that jumped his starter... He paid for all parts...and I rolled away all hot and nasty, smelly with his core parts....
and $105 cash in my pocket...plus the time I was on pepboys clock (wrench away baby)
Interview tomorrow am at 6:30 wish baja rob and I luck...

a new better paying job...pepboys is hardly cutting it...and if they can match the ball park figures I have in my head, I can actually pay the bills eat and have a little spending money during the months...aka actually move out of slave payment....eating crackers so i can pay my bills at the end of the month aint so cool....you know where i am coming from...plus if they make any decent offer i can ask pepboys what i am worth to keep me....it pays off to work hard and be noticed going out of your way.... or atleast we'll find out soon how well it pays off...

Highland. We got some pull. Our old boss from Pepboys moved over there. He called us up and told us to come. We'll know for sure next week though. But he pretty much told us we were in. |
