Been busy but it sounds like I'm not the only one

I got my hummer rims in last week and my 8 lug d44 knuckles will be here by friday. I am also am going to have to recenter the hummer rims so I got some hummer centers coming. I have writeups on how to do the recentering but I am going to need some help adjusting and settign the rim centers. Should probably use a good welding machine too Since mine is POS.

I am also going to reset the perches on the 60ff and weld the carrier

I am also going to get the "flat top" knuckles milled drilled and tapped and fab up some high steer arms to go high steering.

I'm thinking about doing the knuckle conversion in a few weeks but I'm still gathering parts..

Thats the rundown...just trying to stay in the loop

Anybody got any tips on prepping the knuckles or centering the hummer rims?

Carl, how did that gear swap work out?? If it came out good maybe i'll go ahead and regear while I have everything apart!!!

8 lug knuckles? WTF is that? you mean, 8 lug rotors and hubs? I got all mine in as well just lack steering correction.....neeed either a machinist or buy a new one...will sell all my stock stuff....Man, so many of us have so much going on......saturday is the day, i think we'll beat the 18 trucks from last time....

Kris:

come to think of it...do you wanna trade hubs, spindles etc? mine are the big bearing type...have almost the same inner and outter bearings...seemed to roll much better than my old stuff...just asking, i think its a 6lug upgrade...my sheit is complete, i'm gonna sell it if you dont want it, if we trade i'll sell your stuff...

works for me i think my steering issues are bearing related anyway, besides the fact that my pump is on its way out

Yeah I meant 8 lug conversion parts and flat top knuckles, but since they came off of the same donor I just lumped the terms together

Carl, What do I have to do to get the 60ff regeared?? Do I need to bring the axle to his shop??

Is it better to get it regeared before I install it in the truck??? Do I need a full bearing kit to set the gears?? Why am I asking so many questions???

I should be getting my hummer centers in this week so I will recenter this weekend...Anybody got a good MIC set?? I have a writeup but It needs to be pretty close to perfect or I will have alot of runout. Not too sure about it but I'm going to try

I am going to be wrenching starting this weekend until I finish:

Rebuild, regear, and disk brake the 60ff
8 lug conversion, mill drill tap knuckles, fab up high steer arms from 1" plate steel
Get new tierod or shorten old one
recenter hummer rims
regear front 44

and a lot of other misc. crap I will have to adjust to get it all to work right!!!!

Why do we do this to ourselves????
