as i just read a post telling me why I thought my 14bolt looked a little off center... I did so much welding and grinding and was so happy to have my shiznit straight, the fact that each side is a diff length never crossed my mind...looks like i get to do yet some more welding in the near future

Length of axletube on SHORT side (measured from edge of pumpkin casting to outer edge of the square backing plate flange):
Standard 14BFF = 15.500"
Van-Width 14BFF = 17.000"
Difference: 1.500"
Length of axletube on LONG side (measured from edge of pumpkin casting to outer edge of the square backing plate flange):
Standard 14BFF = 19.750"
Van-Width 14BFF = 21.375"
Difference: 1.625"
Total difference: 3.125" (At least on mine!)

and to think i have to buy custom rims to get my tires to fit on my 14bolt because the springs hit the axle tube flanges, and the wheels are too close to the springs!!!!!! i wish i could have found a van 14bolt.... mine is about 3 inches more narrow than i wanted |

I wouldn,t have thought of that.It always seems like something just rears its ugly head and bites you !
How far off is it? Does it make your Blazer do the dog walk down the road? |

It really doesn't look very off from behind, besides this funny thing my leaf springs are doing....
I just really noticed with the driveline....it seemed cocked to one side...but thats impossible I measured all the driveline angles to the degree....never thought of the off centeredness
Dammit, I'm in a computer lab at school and i slept through my first class this morning and low and behold there is my first class professor 3 chairs away.. DOH!

If it makes you feel any better .... I was measuring stuff the other day and my rear is about 1/4" off to one side too...
Just keep thinking about the finished product. Thats what I've been doing.....
