It's illegal to have an vehicle on blocks in your driveway while you work on it?
No offense to your neighborhood Josh, but I don't think your Blazer on blocks was bringing the property value down or anything....
What else do we have to do to your unit to get it rolling?

Sec. 12:505. Notice to owner or occupant to abate public nuisance on occupied or unoccupied premises.
(a) Whenever any public nuisance exists on occupied or unoccupied premises within the city-parish in violation of section 12:500, the enforcing agency shall order the owner of the vehicle, or the owner or the occupant of the premises whereon such public nuisance exists, to abate or remove the same. Such order shall:

yeah certain cities / parishes are really picky about the whole "on blocks" thing, in the past three months there has been about 5 vehicles towed away from my street cause the owners just had them sitting up and were inoperable, they threatened to tow the bronco claiming that if it didn't have insurance and a tag they could tow it, but it said on the paper he gave me that it had to not have insurance, a tag, and inoperable, I pointed out to him that it was operable and he said didn't matter and I told him what the paper he gave me said, and also told him if he tried to tow it I would call a lawyer, he said he'd talk to the cheif and I haven't heard from him since, that was three months ago they towed three cars at that time, and they were towing three vehicles this week, but my cousin managed to pick up one of them for $300, owner said the transmission leaked, my cousin put some stop leak in there and he says it doesn't leak a drop now, he's prolly gonna turn around and sell it now and make his $300 back and then some

Good thing my driveway is sloped towards the street or I would be doing all kinda of work on it out in public view. My backyard is fenced in and that is where it all gets done....but has me thinking about my local laws.
Though my across the street neighbor is the local activist and he had his truck on stands for nearly a week after a wreck...so I guess I should be cool if need be. |
