I have a dilemma. I can get 4.10's with a d44 carrier for 200.00 to my door (My d60 carrier is good up to 4.10 ) But since I have to get a complete bearing kit and pay to regear, I only want to do it once. I have a lead on some 4.56 and 4.88 for roughly 200.00 to my door but I would still need to get carriers (50 or so for the d44 and 75 or so for the d60 used of course)

My question: Is it worth the extra 150.00 to go to 4.56 or 4.88 from 4.10?????

I have to decide in the next few days so all input is welcomed

Well, what do most guys run with your setup?

What are you running with your 33s and what rpm are ya turning at 70mph?

Without know a lot about the gearing in your tranny & tcase I'd say go for it.... it it's a toss up.

I talked to Bobby about it . We think you should go with the 4.10 gear
it will give you milage and wheel speed when in the mud.

we already know that a th400 has a horrible 1st gear and your low range isnt great either so your going to low gears in the axles to compensate especaly if you are planning on running 40inch tires right, i guess the question should be do you want more low end grunt getting to the tires or do you want decent fuel economy and save some cash

Well, I got some 35's so I'll run them for a while. I think I'm going to hold off on the 40's. I do like the thought of good highway gas mileage and wheel speed in the mud. I need to save a few nickels so ......I am going with 4.10's. Thanks guys... I kinda had my mind made up already...due to lack of fundage but its nice to get some additional input.
