Come January 1st I'd like to get a few more of you involved in the leadership process. Specificly I'd like it if 2 folks would volunteer. 1 to take over the duties as the event planner and the other to take over with member recruitment.

EVENT COORDINATOR - in my eyes the most important job in the chapter:
You just need to come up with stuff for us to do. Pick places for us to go, set times, dates & figure out pricing for lodging & entrance fees. If we are going to cook out or something throw together a list of who is bringing what. Eventually I'd like it if this person can learn some basic HTML so that they can update the upcoming events page them self. This is something I can easily teach you and I can set you up with with programs that make it super easy. - Probably best if this person goes to most of the events.....

MEMBER RECRUITER - Help our chapter grow!
Not really very difficult, but will require a little time. Try to post upcoming events in multiple forums in hopes that people will see them and contact us (post in everything from Bronco II to H2 forums). Post flyers up at places you think potential members would show up. If you go to a Monster truck show bring some flyers and hand them out to prospects. We also had (for a little while) some chapter cards the size of business cards that we could keep in our wallets to hand out to people we saw randomly, I think it was a good idea. - Probably best if this person travels a lot and/or already has time to check several forums

EDIT***

MERCHANDISE - Make us money!
Generate some money to put back into the club. Our costs are minimal (domain fees) but I would like it if we could get some money in the bank and start doing stuff like ordering t-shirts for different events. I also would like to reward people next year that make it to every event with some sort of free t-shirt/trophy/beer huggie or something... Anyway I have ideas about lots of stuff, but we need money first, so if someone would like to explore this a little further let me know. We are already setup with an online shop, but I believe we could get things cheaper if we were to do it locally & in bulk. - Probably best if this person has basic photoshop skills

If you'd be interested in doing any of these please email me....

Does this suggest you two are interested in assuming full responsibility for these positions, or just want to help out? I really would like for people to take over these responsibilities 100% .... It's not like any of this is that much work, but I'm doing it all by myself right now and it adds up sometimes.....

Added merchandise to the list......

Man you know me. I eat, sleep, and drink this club every day of the week. I know it doesnt show much on the boards but I try to get it out there. I am now down to 8 hours in school so I will have some time to spend on making flyers and cards... I'll try to start getting on other board to get the word out. Ive been wondering if we should try to get a 4x4 club organized at LSU in connection with the club. Kinda like Texas A&M has....

I'll take any help I can get

I believe Josh would like to take over with the event planning. He's on his way to my house so I can fix his PC and set it up to do what he'll need.... so I think that is settled.

Rob you seem most interested in member recruitment. Might help to have different folks in different places so if others like Jeff or Reggie or Herbie want to get in it with you and form a little committee that would be cool as well. That way each person could focus on getting folks around them, but I'd still like to have one sole person responsible, that way they won't get lazy coughsouthernchaptercough Good idea with the LSU thing.

Kris or Jeff, if you'd like to get into the merchandising stuff then that would be cool as well. Of all the stuff people would want I think t-shirts & calanders are the best sellers. If you want to look for a local place and get prices to see if they can beat what we have now that would be a good start. Hell, if one of you wants to be the t-shirt guy and the other the calander guy that would be cool with me, but like I said above I'd like one person to be the head of it.

So this brings me to the question of how do I decide who to let do what? I don't want to pick people myself and possible offend, I don't want to get political and have ghey elections...... I'd also like to spread the responsibility out across our hometowns if possible.

I willing to help anyway I can. I don't think I have the time to "hold a position", but am willing to assist in anyway I can.
