Just another update, i got the PS lines for my steering, caliper bolts, and brake pads. I should be ordering a tie rod tomorrow and getting brake calipers, then i need shocks. Carl if you can e-mail that guy about thoes lines and Jeff lemme know about thoes springs. After these little things are ordered, that should be everything excet for a few bolts and sleeves. I'm getting anxious now.

I'm going with F-250 shock towers and i ordered some jeep shackles.

Carl, i guess we need to come up with a weekend to have a WOT party somtime in Dec. Will need regular tools(socket to fit spindle nut), SawZall and lots of steel blades, and of course the handy dandy welder, as well as a drill.

I'm kinda undecided on gears at the moment. I will probably get 35's for now, but hope to upgrade later down the line, so should i do 4.56 or 4.88, i know the 4.88 pinion is kinda small. Anyways gears will come later down the line

I'd stick with 4.56s based on the pinion. a 35 is a pretty big tire on that 30 anyway and if you go too much bigger you'd want to swap it out anyway IMO.

4.56 or 4.88 is gonna depend on if you have OD or not, I believe you do, and yes the pinion will tapper smaller with 4.88 but really, wheel the thing first and see if you can break the axle with 35's first

Yomie, I should have my new springs in next week. I'm going out of town on Dec. 3 till Dec. 7. When are you doing the swap?? I could get them off this weekend and leave my truck until I get back from vacation then install my new springs if you needed them soon otherwise I could just swap them at your WOT, then I would just be able to do it all at once....what ever works for you...It sounds like your WOT won't be until the second weekend of Dec. or so which would work out good for me but Let me know what you think....

OK, just to give you guy's a heads up on this WOT, this won't be a regular 1 day/couple hour WOT, this will be a whole weekend event, there is alot involved in other words this isn't bolt on, i'll break it down for ya!

First off the stock IFS crossmembers will have to be cut off with a sawzall or cut off disk

heres the crossmembers

And here they are removed

Then we will slide the axle under the truck to mark the frame for the spring perches (which i already have the perches). I plan on just welding the perches to the frame. The shock towers will need to be welded on. Once that is done then 2 holes will have to be drilled in the frame for the steering box(after placement is determined). These 2 holes will need to be sleeved for reinforcement. The third hole mount will have to be made with the angle iron that Carl has...here is an example.

I already have the drag link that will need to be used and i'm waiting for a lower steering shaft. The steering shaft will have to be welded also, i will have to weld the upper half of my steeering shaft to the lower half of a 1994 explorer shaft like so...

After all this is put together my stock exploder brake fittings (on my hard line) will need to be cut off and replaced with jeep fittings (so yes i will need a double flare tool).

After doing all this and if we have time, the rear of the truck will need to be sprung over, which i have the SOA perches for(hopefully my drive shaft will be long enough). And that seems as if it will be all of the weekends activities!!!!!

I am wanting to also shorten this shackle hanger a little bit before it goes on the truck, it is just way too long(the verticle pole holding the bushing). I got a set of shackles which are longer than i thought they would be. They are 6" from eye to eye so instead of getting a shorter shackle i would like to just shorten the mount.

This is the exact shackle i got, i want my mount to be close to the frame like this

And thats it......

We can have this at my house (very limited on tools here, but really clean garage) but all of you who attend will ahve to drive 100 miles to get here(i'm sure you could stay at my house though). Or if someone wants i can drive to NO and we can have this party at someones house over there, but i will need somewhere to stay, and we can't really goof off, cause this needs to get done so i can drive back.

So first question of business is where are we going to have this?

Second question is who is still wanting to attend?

On another note, i got the brakes done tonight, new calipers, rotors and pads. I am running the Bendix Titanium metallic pads.

I want to thank anyone that read this entire thread, i know it is fairly long!
