Josh, why is that such a bad idea??? I kinda like that... Probably gained an extra 2" over stock!!
Why did they have to brace the cover like that?? Either way, I will definitely have to shave that thing |

Bad idea as will you ever be able to get that thing to seal, the first pic the 14 bolt is up side down.....the cover pic is from a axle converted to a 14 bolt front....the main pic won't show for one reason or another

How about if we just weld the cover on the bottom and put in a drain plug??? |

being that thats the lowest point your drain plug would need to be there and the R&P clearance to a drain plug couldn't be all that great if at all possible

I say we try it Jeff.. We could drill a hole in the cover and weld a nut over it.. Then plug it with a bolt..
Therefore no clearance prob.. As the nut wouldnt go into the axle .. Only into the nut..
Sounds like it will work.. Dont you thnk?
By the way ..Jeff..
I got the regulator and guage and pressure switch today..
Gonna be soooooooo cool...
This is where I put my gauge.
.
What do you think??
ITs the first step.. I have set up the lubricator and the dryen and I am working on a good place for the regulator and pressure switch..
More pics to come...

For the terrain we run, I doubt shaving that will make enough difference to warrant the PITA of doing all the extra crap.
If you weld the cover on, and break something on the middle of nowhere, you better hope you brought all your tools with you......
Why not run a few beads of weld and build up the mating surface on the inside? Wouldn't take that much and youd still have clearance. Only problems would be cleaning it out but a vaccum or something would solve that. Then build up the bottom of the diff cover to match.... Just don't add so much you can't get the diff in & out.....
