Thanks again to Lee, who found me a killer deal on another axle.
I got this:
Corp 14, Full Float, 4.10, New Disks, New Detroit, 8x6.5 bolt pattern. ($800)
For $600. It's in Gulf Port so no shipping!
I'm pretty pumped about it!
I'm going to call the guy about my 60 today. |

Looks like all I'll have to get is gears for both axles and the front electronic locker. Other than that it'll will just all be in the install. Looks like I'll be buying a lot of peoples food and beer for a while! |

e-locker in the front? are you fawking nuts?!?! for that price i'd run an ARB, although a detroit should be plenty, think about it, you run MUD when you lock in why not just stay locked in....

why not electrac? limited slip off, locker on????
arb requires air, and air can be a pain. id rather have air and not need it, then air lockers and not have it. |

granted technology is getting well up to par its still not bulletproof, again my justification would be the in mud aspect, In your case the m715 may see its share of rocky terrain along with mud etc etc, on a truck on 44's that sees majority of mud, I personally couldn't justify the dough for an e-locker, an ARB does indeed use air but off of a small compressor, not nessessary to have OBA......i've never heard of the lines being pulled out or failing but we do have sticks and stumps here, a detroit would be plenty for hoss as it has no flex, doesn't travel far and is built for mud....if J.R. plans on trailering and making trips to play on the rocks I could see it, if ya got the dough and want the cool e-trac props as well, it would be cool but I don't see the practicallity on Hoss in the mean time......JMHO

Time will only tell what I get. I just wanted the option of turning the locker on and off. I also didn't want OBA. I don't want a full time locker up front. I'll probably run with out it and see how it goes. Then when I get the money add it. I just emailed Detroit to see if they even have one for my application. |
