1 i say we try to COMBINE the clubs. ends redundancy.
2 solicit land to see what it will cost
3 RAISE membership. we need to set a goal of 100 members AT LEAST
4 RAISE dues. 10 dollars a month allows you to ride on club land at a reduced cast PER RIDE in addition to yearly membership.
look 120 per year per 100 members is 12000 a year. im willing to pay more.....
charge 10 dollars per ride, thats a good bit more money POSSIBLY another few thousand
non members pay 20 dollars per rig OR more.
can our insurer not find insurance for 12000+ a year???????????
before everyone bitches, lets see you DRIVE to gulfport for less than that, or texas, north carolina,oklahoma.... etc.
or we can sit around and eat at hooters and talk about the good old days. |

yeah where? and I know that it's hard to say right now and it depends on how much money we could raise and the price of land, but about how much land would we be shooting for? what'd be the minimum?

Surely we could lease some land from someone for a reasonable price.. Hell if hunters can do it why cant we..
I am with you my brother... I would pay that much to have a place to ride.. I mean really you are right $10 a month is nothing.. And I spend at least $100 every time I go to Red Creek..
Thats two tanks of gas ($35 each) $25 to enter the park and at least $10 on snacks and lunch..
Thats alot.. And I have been there 5 times..Yeouch..
IM in Lee.. Any Ideas on land?

i dont have a problem with any of the ideas except combining la4x4 and 2bb, i joined 2bb for what it is lets not ruin it by making it into what la4x4 is im not saying to not have some type of partnership with another club but lets leave this one alone, most of the people on here are members of other clubs anyway. maybe its just me but i like it here the way it is because of the way things are

1 land in the middle to northern part of the state has better terrain (hilly). and that is from B/R north, as far as i know...... like st francaisville......... so i guess around there....
2 i USED to be a la4x4 member, and the reason i am not is covered there. i believe i am , and consider myself a 2bb member. they have not been full-size friendly...... and i always have said MILITARY jeeps are REAL jeeps!
3 i had a VER VERY rich and powerful woman call to report ALOT of stolen jewelry from her home... i asked her about land...... but she sold hers.... |

I jokingly said on La4X4 that we should start the Louisiana Coalition of Clubs... IT was a joke but it is not neccisarily a bad Idea.. We dont have to be one single club to put up a unified front...
And we could maybe get another sticker out of the Deal.
Someone work on a Logo...
Seriously .. Its not a bad Idea and we could definatly use the help in our efforts ..
Speaking of which.. Patrick.. I seem to have missplaced the spillway Guys # ..
I am cought up at work and I will be able to dedicate more time to ringing his phone..
Please give me that # again....

This is all well and good in theory.
But I don't want to charge dues in 2BB. How many of you would actually be willing to pay dues? I know that eventually we will probably have to if we want to "keep up" but I'd rather not charge dues unless/untill we have too. If it boiled down to people having to pay a $10 monthly fee for land use, then it would be charged as such and go straight to it ... if we find land.
The two clubs wouldn't ever join. I think there are too many 2bbers that have issues with LA4x4, and I think that there are too many LA4x4ers that would die before wheeling with fullsizes. There are a good amount of cool LA4x4 people, but there are also some hardcore "Jeep only" people that even I avoid. I also think that a good amount of the LA4x4 folks would be welcome by us and feel comfortable here, but that a few bad apples & general viewpoints over there wouldn't help with 2bb members feeling comfortable over there.
I doubt the clubs would ever be able to share land either ..... unless we split it in half and stayed off each others sides. Sounds retarted but there are some strong feelings behind the scenes. Untill we (2bb) have more members, we can't do too much with our limited purchasing power... so get cracking Rob
I'd love to get some land somewhere though.... but first thng to do is get this petition thing through. Once that is done, if we need to raise money or charge dues for insurance or something, then I'll look into forming a legit non-profit organization .... but I'd prefer to keep things free as long as possible.
Carl, I lost that number when I had to format my Laptop.....
