Hey carl, don't worry about that steering shaft, i picked one up this morning at Barry's-u-pull it. They also sell driveshafts for 12.99, the only problem is finding a STRAIGHT 4 door explorer shaft...uugh

Also ..... ANyone have any Idea what will make an alternator only put out 12 volts... It used to put out 14.4 and now I am only getting 12..
Also I disconnected battery and turned on headlights and fog lights it ran fine with out even bogging
So Maybe its my gauge??? Could that be??
Also .. I need to return this damn CV shaft to pepboys... WIll they take it back if nothing is wrong with it...
I just dont want it anymore..

Receipt will be the big issue with that return to Bo-peeps.
Jeep alt guages, especially the stock ones are known for showing the wrong thing. As far as what would make it suddenly change 
The only sure way to check is to take a volt meter check your battery at the truck's off position should be from 12.00-13.00V usually
start the truck and check the same two posts, it should read 13.5 - 14.5 if its sufficently charging
Rev the engien while taking a reading it should definately hit 14V now
decided what to replace from those #'s.
