Is anyone in to shooting handguns? just about every Friday they have Handgun steel plate compitions in Arabi not far from my house. I usally compete in these comp. It is very competitive and fun, also a very family oriented sport. Everyone is glad to help you out when you need help also, this is what makes it a good sport. If anyone is interested in shooting let me know.

im up for it, how much does it cost to compete and what are you useing to compete with? i may have to wait till after christmas im a little short on cash and handgun ammo at the minute

$10 to compete in the comp, and it usually starts at 7:30pm till usually around 11:00pm sometimes later. I shoot a 9mm auto. you need 3 magazines and a holster to make it nice and easy. They have 4 levels of shooters and I am in the C level, which is beginner. I started off shooting the 5 plates in about 8 seconds, and now I am around 4 seconds. I am about to break into the B class which you have to be under 4 seconds consistantly. Hell the Master class averages 2.5 seconds for 5 plates and that is starting with their hands on their heads and their gun in their holster. C class starts with their gun in hand at their waist.

iai m-5000 its israili made its not a top of the line one but its a hell of a lot better than a llama or other bottom end .45acp
not to many people had heard of it but Masad Ayube wrote an article on it saying that its the best out of the box mid- grade .45 hes ever shot and for the price i couldnt pass it up i didnt have the money for a para or wilson so i got what i could for $500 but its a comander frame with extended magazine and slide releases plus it comes with a wrap around grip extended saftey and double ridges on the slide the only up grade i need to do to this gun is the sights and it still uses the older recoil spring design which id like to change

I started off using a Ruger P 94 9mm, which I still use for my concealed carry, and I bought a EAA Witness 9mm which has a faster trigger and less recoil. I ordered a C-Mor Holo optic sight for it, which I don't have yet, and I am going to get the extended barrel and compensator for it next.

you like the witness better than the p94? ive shot both and i always prefered the ruger but yes the slide has a long travel on the 94 witch does give it a bit of recoil i have the same problem with my 9mm its almost all plastic so it has way to much recoil for a 9

I tell ya, I picked up about 1.5 sec quicker when I switched to the witness. Quicker slide and shorter trigger stroke.

ive got a couple of questions for you
1-have we met?
2-you go every week, doesnt that get expensive?
3-how much ammo do you burn up each time?
4-how many people go to this competition?
5-whats the distance of the plates?
6-you said there were 4 classes what is the other one all you mentioned was a,b, and c i take it that its d but what are the rules of this class?
7-the only holster i have for my government model is a shoulder rig i guess i cant use that right?
