This one is a tuff call I need some opinions, the price is right the distance may be a bit far tell me what you think I can more than likely get my hands on a new silverado to make the trip in(my grandparents). Object to be retrieved:
87 chevy 8 lug 10 bolt geared 4.11 less than a year ago, brand new bearings and seals new warn premium hubs, complete minus steering stabalizer $225
Would cost me way more than that to buy my gears and get it regeared, is it worth driving to corpus christi TX to get it though? He isn't interested in shipping, about an 8 hr drive out of B.R. Would have to be atleast a 2 day trip. My front axle as is would sell for $100 no problem, and i could resell my 8 lug stuff for 200 easy on the net. Any thoughts?

I don't know?? Add up the gas money, hotel, food for the trip and you might be better off getting something else. But if you made a spring break trip down to Corpus then it might be worth it Barry's in mississippi sells axles for 69.00, front or rear 1/2 ton or 1 ton ff doesn't matter. Carl has been here a few times he could fill you in. Then again a good deal is a good deal.... tough call |

in general a 8 lug 3/4 ton front will already have atleast 4.11's...... The one I am buying has been converted from 6 to 8 lug.....
69 is way cheap for a front maybe a rear but not a front....
Hotel? Nope I have relatives in houston I can crash at their place, last time I took my grandfather's 02 silverado extended cab with the 5.3L v-8 and made 21mpg to austin and back...
I think hotel gas and all hard to beat a axle thats just been reworked....not factory used and abused and filled with water for the past 20 years
On the other hand missing two days of work I coul pay for shipping workign those two days and save wear tear and my travel time by staying here...dunno

If any of you guys run up on a Chevy 44 or 10 bolt front with a passenger drop please check the price and let me know. I have a project that is top secret at the moment. I will be needing a pass drop axle. 4.10 gearing would get you a reach around |

Anything with a passenger side drop. I an planning on doing a Dana 300 unflipped with a 4to1 and twin stick. That means ill have to have a pass drop 44 or 10 blot. Cause i want to go hi steer. |
