I was in NO today and stopped by harbor freight store and they have a 8000 lb winch for only 299. It is a chicago brand. I know they make decent air tools, but don't know about winches. Is it worth it? |

Read a write up on these a while back...If you look at it.. Its obviously the same as a Ramsey Rep 8000 (Why because it is..) IT was a ramsey that either failed line inspection or was returned..
It has been Rebuilt and rebadged ... I think that it would definatly be worth it.. And I have actally discussed buying one myself..
And I was infact at Harbor Freight on Airlne today at 3 pm.. Looking at it..
I dont think I would need the big goofy Jeep mounting plate but I could probobly sell that to someone with a TJ or YJ...
Its a good deal ... Go for it...
Oh so that you know .. It was tested side by side with the Ramsey it started off as ...
And it pulled Just as hard but a little slower.. If speed is not important.. Its a good deal..
As far as I am concerned speed is unimportant.. If I am getting out.. Do I care how fast..
Eat , Drink, Mud... What else is there?

I wouldn't mind getting it, but I want new tires too. too many wants and not enough in checking.
UPS just dropped off my rear ez-locker. Might install today? |

Brett I think that will be a very weak winch for your size truck, I think you want atleast 1/2x's the weight of the vehicle you are pulling at a minimum, so it will work but not the greatest. $299 is kinda hard to go wrong with |
