Please help:

I just purchased this 91 Bronco and the 4 wheel drive doesnt work, I removed the motor that engages the 4x4 and reinstalled it and it worked a couple times. now I cant get it to back into 4 wheel drive once it disengages I know the motor works .... what could be the problem
