Josh you know how to do this?
I have a new pinion & new install kit & all ... just not sure what to take off. Not sure about the spacers ... what if it was just an empty housing?

You have to bring it to autozone ( I think they do it..) or something and get the old bearing pressed off.. THen take the same amount (or very same) Shims and press the new bearing on the pinion with those in there.. The shop guy will know how to do it..
We can handle the carrier with a little dremel action.. (Do I need to bring mine or do you have one?)
IF there is a parts store around there thats open on sundays and does that kind of work?
WE can just get it done when we get there if there is..
Eat , Drink, Mud... What else is there?

I have changed 4 or 5 ring and pinion sets in toyota axles, been a couple a years. are you putting back the same ratio as before? If so it should be the same shim pack.
If I didn't have to work I would go help.
Make sure to get a new crush washer and preload it to the specified load |
