OK, I got to thinking last night about Soft Tops for our trucks. The cheaper ones often cost around $340 and require drilling holes into the body, and many of us do not want to do that. And the ever popular Skyler Tops cost an arm and a leg, and they currently are not producing any because the company is for sale. And for those of us stuck with the 'In-Truck' spare tire, we're outta luck. So I drew up some designs, estimated some costs, and figured that I can build a top for around $100, at the most $115, and then sell them for $200-$225 a piece. I'd be selling for cheaper then most no-name brands, and making a product comparable to the Skyler Top. Of course it would be different enough so as not to encroach on copyright laws. It would use a frame mount, the stock mounting locations would be used, no drilling required. In order to keep costs down, metal snaps would be used, most likely avaiable in tan and black to begin with, etc, etc. My question is, if i base this off of my 1990 Bronco, what other years would it fit? 86-91? or 86-94? Also, would there be adequate interest in buying these? Anyway, let me know, I would like to get this project started, and hopefully sell a useful and quality product. |

I would definitely be interested in it for that price. I own a 94 bronco and was looking at getting a softtop from STG Tops but wasn't to fond of paying almost $600 for it. What would your definitive price by for one that includes shipping? The only other thing I can think of is running into any snags when installing it, what would happen? |

definately interested, I'd want to see some pics of the product though, ive got a '96 if it would fit a '92 it would fit a 96, i'm not sure if a '90's would fit, i'd have to go look at one and take some measurements. would the back seat still be useable? i'm partial to the ones that lie flat accross the back, personaly, but at that price i'd settle for a full size top. |

Matt,
You could always fold down the back seat for the flat back (which is what I would prefer too) with the top on that way you wouldn't have to take it out. He hasn't responded back yet but I hope he does cause STC version of the flat back soft top is around $500! |

Definately interested here as well.... one problem I have is for my wife's she wants the full top so the back seat is usable (Kids). For mine I want the toneau cover look... (took back seat out = no kids in my truck ) ... I could probably market some more up here in CT ... I own 4 Bronco's and know alot of people that have them as well. Show us some pics
