Hello, an old Lady (81) which lives next door from us owns a Crown Victoira 2003 83000miles. It "exploded" on her last week. No fire but loads of steam and water on the driveway. it was picked up and taken to the Ford shop. After one week of waiting Ford now tells her they don't know what it is without taking the motor apart but at the same time tell her she will need a new motor for sure. Cost involved $6000 (they recently rebated it to 54000).Question: How much does such a motor really cost. What could possibly be the issue?
To me it seems they are just giving her a pretty steep price to lure her in to buying a new car. The poor lady doesn't know what to do. I am suggesting not to fix and leasing a new car. However, buying or leasing wasn't in her budget.
Alle help, thoughts and suggestions welcome.
