My 1997 Crown Vic turn signals have broken.
For several months, when signaling a left turn, the signal has flashed at a fast rate. Yesterday, I had to turn on the emergency blinkers. All lights flashed as expected. However, when I turned the emergency flasher off, the turn signals are now completely inoperative. When moving the signal lever on the steering column, the white turn lights illuminate, but there is no red flashing or dashboard flash indication.
All hints appreciated.

Usually when a turn signal blinks real fast, it usually means that one of your bulbs has gone out. The emergency blinkers will still work normally, but the turn signal is still out.

i'm not sure about your model, but in my 91 towncar there are two separate blinkers under the dash, at the fuse panel.
try to switch them in place and see if the flasher starts working correctly, and whether the energency lights go bad.

your turn signals are tied to the multifunction switch. There is a recall on that part. My fathers GM has the same thing, as did my 01 F-150. Take it in to a dealer and get it replaced. My 02 GM had a similar problem, Ford ate a 1500 repair bill.
I am new to this forum, can anyone tell me how to have a picture appear with my user name? any help greatly accepted

I had this same problem. I have a 2001 Crown Vic P71, and a couple of weeks ago the blinkers started blinking at an extremely fast rate on the dash and physically on the car. However no lights burnt out, and now they work fine. every now and then they blink fast but not very much, so it could just be a fuse, might wanna check in the fuse box and see whats up.
