Hi there guys and gals,
I've recently bought a 1988 Ford LTD Crown Victoria LX 5.0L as my first american car (i live in the UK). I have a problem with the air conditioning, and have tried everything from searching the haynes manual to trying local garages all with no luck.
It would appear that the reason for no air con is that there is no belt driving the compressor, and the reason for no belt is that about 10 inches below the compressor there is a another belt driven device of some kind that has seized up and for love nor money i can't find out what it is. It has a part number on it E6VEAA31LBHR but no one over here can figure out what it is. It runs off the same belt as the air con. If any one has any idea what part this maybe and how i can get another one i will be eternally grateful as summer is just around the corner and i cant stop driving this great car especially as its twice the size of everything else on the roads over here.

Many thanks

Greig (in England)
