HI, I'm new here, and I have had my car for a few weeks now, but one thing that I have noticed about my 04' p71 is that he like to drink a lot of gas. I want to save on fuel. Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do to my car to save on gas?

Make sure it's tuned up and running right. I have a 2003 CVP and can get OK mileage around town. When I on the highway it got no better. The 3:55 gears in the rear end don't help. I certainly found that out putting 4:10 gears in my 95 Mustang! If your motor is running smooth; (no shakes or hesitation), make sure your transmission is OK shifting correctly. I get way better mileage then say the full size trucks I use to enjoy driving. Let me know it's condition, I'm curious.

Well it has 272,000 mi and sometimes the engines shakes, but I know that its the trans because it needs to be flushed.

For sure... new fluid and definitely the screen filter. Hopefully the fluid does not have a burnt smell yet.

Are there any other suggestions that I can use to help improve my gas mileage? Such as doing things to the engine, decoding, wiring, etc.?
