Over the past few days my transmission doesn't want to shift out of first without me getting up to 20 MPH and then letting off the accelerator. It has gotten worse and I am taking it to my mechanic on Monday. Any suggestions/ideas? Fluid is full and doesn't smell/look burned. Changed the fluid at 27k.

Thought it might be the chip, so I took that out--no change and it was worse last night. Not driving it any more until I get it checked out.

Wish I lived near Gearman :-)

Hi Mike, thanks for speaking with me on the phone about my trans problems. Great info!

To catch others up, took the X to the Ford dealer and had the trans "fixed". Back from the dealer this past Monday and still have the same problem and same EEC codes, P1744, P0781, and P0732. I didn't see the solenoid pack on the list of parts they replaced, so i am guessing that's the latest problem.

I will order the converter/shift kit from Mike when it's available. Mike, be sure to call me when th converters are ready for sale, 561-762-8199 anytime. Any point in doing the shift kit without the converter upgrade?

I also picked up a Banks Trans Command (used). Any point in installing this with the shift kit--any advantage?
