Here are some pics from this weekend. We did some wheelin north of Flagstaff, off 180.
These are the FLEX pics, I couldnt believe it but it does have some decent wheel travel.
I love the 7.3,
It handles quite well off road,
If i plan on playing the mud I need something other than an open diff up front. |

I have some more pics of the X barreling through a mud hole. It was about 3 feet deep the first pass, than I took 4 more and it was darn near empty of all the water and alot less mud.
I have to wait until those are developed. |

I'm not a bag fan of mud, personally, I prefer rocks.
But, since I do have experience 'froadin in mud and water, my advice to you (ignore if you know already) is to make sure your differentials and tranny are vented above what you would consider to be a safe water/mud level. All one needs is to have their tranny grenade or their diff covers blown off because of getting water or mud in them.
My X is a 2WD but my Jeep has vent tubes running up into the engine compartment high into the firewall.
Sounds like you got the bug!

Yup, I am well aware of the risks of water. I hope to one day get a trailer for my bronco, after I put the 4.56's in it, 70mph is pushing the limit, (thats with overdrive). So, long distance travel in the bronco kinda sucks, Id rather trailer it up north and wheel it and tow it home behind the X.
Here is a pic,
94 bronco, 351, 4.56s, etc.
The X is my wifes daily driver, the bronco is mine. I love them both. I wouldnt trade either one.
here is an older pic of the bronco up north wheelin around,
(I could spend gobs of money on both our rigs if i had it)

Nice looking Bronco! 9" or 8.8" rear? 44 front?
Our X seen HERE is a 2WD with the intention of pulling this Jeep:
It has 4.56's too and to drive any decent distance at all ain't no picnic w/ 35" mud-terrains. I have a 18' dove-tailed trailer to drag the Jeep around on. Hope to test the splersion towing prowess in September going to and from a Superlift event a couple of hours east of me.
As for the money... I know what you mean. JEEP stands for Just Empty Every Pocket

I have the 8.8" rear, and the craptastic TTB D44 up front. I have been drooling over a straight D44 swap for about a year now.
And, now I need shocks for the X. I found out last night that I broke the upper shock rear shock mount and re-located the bottom mounts. Why didnt they put a tack weld or something on those lower mounts? Anyway, the shocks are starting to leak and it feels like I am driving a trampoline down the road if you sit in the back. I have thought about running duals with a hoop, but that would hurt the wallet a bit too much. See, my X used to be lifted 10 inches with hoops, duals, etc. and the guy who sold it to me put a 6" procomp lift on it with single shocks. I am not sure exactly why, but here is the pic. My guess is he took the lift off for another truck he was building.
I was thinking about just using some ranchos for now, I am not a big fan of the pro comps.
They ride like poop in the bronco. |

My next mod for the TJ is going to be Rancho RS9000X with the remote reservoirs and in-cab controller. In fact, I was supposed to get out and measure for the over the weekend! DOH!
The only thing we did to the X was add a media center w/ 10.4" screen and DVD, alarm and Lo/Jack. I'm searching for engine mods now other than the K&N filter I added right after we bought it.

Jarred, What size tires are you running? Do you have a lift? How high? |
