just got a new Ford trans cooler from Joe Webb at Suncoast. this is what he is using now and i love it. its made by Tru-Cool (Dana corp.) it is 50% bigger than stock and bolts exactly where your old cooler does. install will be a piece of cake. this cooler is the same size as the new Tru-Cool Max. i believe this cooler is all you need(with radiator) for towing. list price from Ford is 152.90.. thats a great price for this cooler. part # 3C3Z7A095AA.

Hey Mike: I presume you remove the stock cooler, and replace it with the new cooler. After you do the install, please let us know how difficult it was, for this shade tree mechanic likes to hear how the install was prior to jumping into it. Thanks as always for your professional advice. |

Gearman, isn't the stock cooler in between the radiator and the condensor?
I'm contemplating on relocating the stocker to the front of the FLX-116 for the time being

Hey Gearman: Was just checking back in for an update on the cooler. Did you do the install, and if so, how difficult was it? I made a 6 hour trip into Mexico last weekend, my udates are open air filter, 4 inch stainless exhaust, helwig rear sway, ranchos and pod guages and I had a chance to watch my tranny temp, with nothing in tow, and it ran a bit higher than I like around 185. Am planning on making the same trip next week with my boat in tow, so I'ld like to do something with the cooler to lower the temps a wee bit. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |
