Am about to order and install some cab lights. Have checked some forums and heard that there was some sort of template available. Does anyone have access to one, or have a suggestion as to where I might locate one? Thanks in advance. |

I just went to a dealer on a sunday and got on the back of a f-450 or f-550 without a bed and took lots of measurements! It is a task!!! Each light requires 3 holes in the roof! Make sure you get the wiring harness too! It is easy to hook up, out of the 15 wires you use (2) two!!!! I put up a 5 foot ladder on each side of the truck and ran a 2x12 across to support my 200lbs.

Thanks birdman, guess I'll be doing the same. Was out of town for a few day so i didn't get a chance to check back in. Lived in Baltimore myself back in the 80's, enjoyed it, but last time i went through the area the inner harbor looked as if it has gone back down, bummer. But thanks for your heads up. |

I'm holding out until I feel rich enough to cough up some serious dough ($600+) for the Ford-made windshield sunvisor w/ clearance lights assembly. Ford offers these on the F350 Lariat LE ... and it looks a lot nicer than the Lund (had one of those on my F350) or other aftermarket visors. A neighbor has one on his F350 LE, and it is sharp ... but one strike against it, though ... it doesn't have any air passages between the visor & the roof to allow air to escape from under it ... the air has to go around it. I still intend to get one, and just wire it into the wiring harness in the overhead. |

No, Mongo, you were right. The retail price is around $1,200, and I believe an extra $150 for the mounting gasket. But if you've got a good rapport with your local dealer's parts-counter-person, they are authorized to give discounts ... up to a point, anyway ... Ford still needs to make a profit. I've been fortunate to have a good relationship with a guy behind a local dealer's parts counter. And while he can't give the stuff away, he does cut me some slack ... and for that, I will continue to do business with them ... AND recommend them highly. |
