I have a 2000 X limited with a light tan leather interior, with buckets with armrests and a center console with a plastic wood top. What I'd like to do is replace the console with a center seat that folds down to an armrest and still opens up for storage, cup holders, etc. I'd want it to look like it was a factory installation. One of the problems seems to be the factory armrests -they'd have to be removed and the holes patched to allow for a wider center seat back.
The interior is as new, so I don't want to replace the seats and I need to keep the costs down.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

While I'm not after a seat....
and I LIKE the looks of our '03 Ex's wud...
I'd still like to have a 'workable' center section that I could actually put stuff on and it won't slide off!
Why did they design a curved top ??? the clip is great for holding say a map...
but when you have to unclip something to look at it while driving - not the safest thing...
I know - I should STOP ?!?! but I don't - so I'm looking for a raised center section for it...

I think your best bet is to try looking in f-250's and 350's for there center seats. It might be easier to replace the whole front row. Maybe a truck owner with your color seats would like to trade!!!

That's a good idea but, having traded a F250 in on my X, I have to say the seats in the F250 were not as comfortable as the seats in my X. 'Could have been my imagination, though.
