I need to replace my stock shocks and steering stabilizer. I do not tow anything but the truck is used a lot for everyday activities. I have been torn between the Rancho 5000 and 9000 series shocks. What would the best option be? I cannot find a steering stabilizer listed on the Rancho site. Can anyone recommend one to use. 2000 X 4X4 Limited 83,000 miles.
Thanks in advance.

I went with the Rancho RSX9000 adhustables ... acceptable improvement. I also installed a Hellwig anti-sway bar ... very good improvement in sway control. My biggest improvement to the ride quality was when I designed, fabricated and installed my pair of radius-rods. Those things eliminate the rear "spring wrap" ailment ... for which the Excursion is very prone since it has the weakest leaf springs of all the Ford SD trucks. After installing the radius-rods, I wish I had just left the original shock absorbers on the X. |

Land Yot, do you have any pictures of your radius rods? How hard are they to make?
Thanks!
